![]() This is so much more important when the app is a password manager. It is another check and balance the app does what it says and says what it does. All things being equal, I prefer open source: open source provides accountability and verification. The downside is that it is a closed (secret) software source base. I also note that, among my software developer peers, 1P is probably the most popular choice. ![]() It sounds like it is the UX that is drawing you toward 1P, and I respect that. As far as I can tell, their customer support is exemplary. It is a very mature and reputable product. ![]() I regularly mention 1P as a second choice after Bitwarden. I've had no issues exporting and importing my Bitwarden vault into 1Password, by the way.Īnyways, what does 1Password have that Bitwarden doesn't (e.g., security, blah blah blah), and in your opinion, if you were a security-conscious person like me who has been subject to multiple breach attempts, would you get 1Password? Is 1Password as private, if not more as Bitwarden? Is 1Password something that I can rely on that won't go down? Adding on, 1Password is only about $28 more at ~$38 a year (give or take with tax, etc.), which would hurt my wallet when charged but provide little trouble for the rest of the year. I own the Bitwarden plan for $10 a year, but its little vault hygiene check feature is nowhere close to 1Password's watchtower feature, which alerted me to about 15 accounts on which I should change my passwords immediately (which I did do so!). I feel the urge to buy 1Password - currently using the free trial at the moment, but I'm worried it's just my "Spend all your money" side speaking. However, 1Password seems much more attractive to me, with its bells and whistles and more streamlined, modern-looking interface. Bitwarden is an excellent service capable of storing my passwords.
